Set in New Zealand in the 1970’s, Possum is a tale of two young brothers who accompany their lumberjack father to a forest campsite. At odds with each other, the two hatch a plan to head into the woods and hunt for a notorious possum named Scar.
Dave Whitehead’s directorial debut is based on one of his childhood experiences. The New Zealand forest or ‘bush’, holds many stories for all New Zealanders. Forestry work, camping, tramping and hunting play a huge part in the history of the country and every New Zealander has a tale of adventure.
